Refrigeration

From 1822 Leftwich imported ice from Norway bringing it by sea to Limehouse and then along Regent's Canal.

1841 Living at St. Pancras: William Leftwich (age c45), Ice Merchant. With his wife Martha Leftwich and their four children. In the next house is William Leftwich (age c70), Ice Dealer. With his wife Susana.[1]
