1899 Born in Craigavad, Co. Down, Ireland.

Educated at Shrewsbury School and Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge.

1921 Joined Vauxhall Motors as draughtsman

1924 Asst. Technical Manager Amac, Ltd.

1926 Midland editorial rep. Trader Publishing Co.

1930-9 Editor "The Motor Cycle and Cycle Trader."

1937-9 Managing Editor "The Export Trader and British Engineers Export Journal"

1940 Mechanization Board, Ministry of Supply; Deputy Director in charge of wheeled vehicle design.

1946 Left Ministry of Supply and practised as a consulting engineer

1947 Manager Special Services Department Rootes Ltd.
