1876 Joined Brooke, Simpson, and Spiller, makers of artificial dyes

1879 A chemist; married Emma Eugenie Pelham in Belsize Park[3]

1891 Scientific chemist and aniline manufacturer, living in Hackney with Emma E Simpson 32[4]

1903 Left Brookes and formed his own company British Aniline Dye and Chemical Works Ltd.

1911 Aniline dye manufacturer, living in Southgate with Emma Eugine Simpson[5]
