1912 Aerial Derby

The First Aerial Derby was held on the 8th June 1912 at Hendon Aerodrome

It took place over 81 mile circuit with turning points at Kempton Park, Esher, Purley, Purfleet, Epping and High Barnett.

45,000 peeple paid for admission to Hendon on the 8th and an estimaed three million people saw the contest.
