1912 Died. 'Information has reached Penrith of the death Andrew John Hudleston at the age of 57. He was the eldest the late Mr W. Hudleston C.S.I. for many years member of the Madras Council. Mr A. J. Hudleston was for chief engineer of one of the State railways in India. The Hudleston family history goes back, on the authority of the the York Manuscript, quoted by Sir Bernard Burke, to Saxon times, their name being derived from Hudelston Yorkshire. Great numbers of eminent men have come from the families Huddleston of Hutton John and Millom; they have been lords of Millom tor centuries.
