"We regret to record the death of Mr. A. W. Martin, M.B.E., Assoc. I.E.E., technical director of E. K. Cole Ltd. for many years. Mr. Martin, who was aged 59, joined E. K. Cole Ltd. in 1926 as an engineer and became chief engineer in 1943 and technical director in 1952. He later also became chairman of Ekco Electronics Ltd. and a director of several companies in the Ekco Group. During the war years, he was responsible for many outstanding achievements in the development of radar for which he received the M.B.E."
