1970 The name of Associated Fire Alarms was changed to AFA-Minerva

1971 Name changed to AFA-Minerva (EMI) Ltd

1983 Derek Thwaites was appointed managing director of the EMI fire protection and security company AFA-Minerva[2]

1985 Name changed to AFA-Minerva Ltd

1986 Formation of Thorn EMI Protech, to bring together AFA-Minerva and Thorn EMI Fire Appliances, said to be the leading names in fire protection and security[3]
