1937 Fire alarm and extinguisher manufacturers. "Afal" Fire Appliances. "Mofal" Fire Appliances. "Pearson" Fire Appliances. [3]

1962 Acquired Joseph Kaye and Sons, maker of railway carriage locks. [4]. Acquired 4 privately-owned fire engineering business[5].

1964 The directors wanted to clarify that the company was a rental company[6]

c.1964 The company suddenly reported large losses when it had previously been profitable; this led to a change of management and major measures to restore profitability[7]
