ALBERT BADEN HOLMES was killed in a motor accident in Birmingham on Christmas Eve, 1926. Elected a Student Member of the Institute on March 8, 1922, he was transferred to full membership on July 1, 1925.
A student of Professor Turner at Birmingham University, he graduated B.Sc., with Honours in Metallurgy, in 1922.
After leaving the University he entered the laboratory of the Birmingham Small Arms Company, where he remained until he took up a metallurgical appointment at Braintree, Essex, in August, 1926.
He was an Associate of the Institute of Chemistry.
