1866 November 9th. Died. 'Died, at Craigends, Renfrewshire, on the 9th inst., Alexander Cuninghame, Esq., of Craigends and Walkinshaw.'[1]

1866 Obituary. '...He was a native of Renfrewshire, having been born in the mansion house of Craigends, where he died. He was about sixty-three years of age, and has left a son of between fourteen and fifteen years. Mr Cuninghame, entered into business 28 years ago with Mr James merry M.P. and such success attended their operations that the firm of Merry and Cuninghame, iron and coal masters, has been on of the foremost in Scotland....'[2]
