c1903 Born at Gainsborough the son of William Rose and his wife Gertrude

1911 Living at The Lawn, Gainsborough: William Rose (age 49 born Gainsborough), Governing Director in Rose Brothers Engineering - Firm making automatic packeting machinery, also director of the Northern Engineering Co, manufacturing company making cut gearing and reducing gears also general engineering, and Employer. With his wife (married 15 years with five children - four living) Gertrude Rose (age 34 born Gainsborough) and their children Alice Maud Rose (age 14 born Gainsborough); Walter German Rose (age 11 born Gainsborough); Alfred German Rose (age 8 born Gainsborough); and Gertrude Emilly Millicent Rose (age 5 born Gainsborough). One servant.[1]
