1942 Obituary [1]

ALFRED SLATTER, who was elected an Associate of The Institution in 1883 and a Member in 1897, was in the early days Manager of Messrs. Latimer Clark, Muirhead and Co., Messrs. J. D. F. Andrews and Co., and Messrs. Sax and Co.

From 1893 he practised as a consulting engineer and was responsible for the electric lighting of the Mansion House in the City of London and the electrical installation at the Imperial Institute, London. Subsequently he was chairman of the High Wycombe Electric Light and Power Co.

During the war of 1914-1918 he held an appointment in the Contracts Department of the Air Ministry.

From 1925 until his death, which occurred on the 15th January, 1942, he was a director of the Adamant Engineering Co.
