1916 Obituary [1]

ANDREW MARSHALL DOWNIE, B.Sc. (Glas.), born in Lanarkshire in 1875, died on the 20th July, 1915, of wounds received in action at the Dardanelles.

Mr. Downie was Managing Director of Duncan Stewart and Company, engineers, of Glasgow, and a Director of R. M. Downie and Company, shippers, of Manchester.

He had attained the rank of Major in the 5th Highland Light Infantry.

He was elected an Associate Member on the 23rd April, 1901.
