1950 ARMSTRONG SIDDELEY LANCASTER
The Lancaster Saloon is one of the three models produced by Armstrong-Siddeley Motors and is named after the famous Avro bomber aircraft built by the Hawker-Siddeley Group.
It is a four-door six-light saloon and is designed for comfort and convenience. Seating is for four, five or six passengers and both front and rear seats have side and central arm rests, the latter being of the folding type. The upholstery is in real leather and heightens the air of restful luxury created by the interior appointments, which include deep pile floor carpets, with felt underlay. and grained walnut woodwork.
Not all of the design effort has been expended on comfort, however, for the driver has had more than usual consideration in this model. Facing him is an instrument panel which carries the usual speedometer, clock, petrol and oil gauges, but also includes a water temperature gauge, while an amber warning light to indicate bulb failure is found among the array of switches, buttons and lamps.
