By 1953 the constituent companies were:
- Petters, of Yeovil.
- Mirrlees, Bickerton and Day, of Hazel Grove, Stockport.
- J. and H. McLaren, of Leeds.
- National Gas and Oil Engine Co, of Ashton-under-Lyne.
- Henry Meadows, of Wolverhampton.
1961 The Associated British Oil Engines group of companies was acquired by Hawker Siddeley.
