Bairds and Dalmellington

From Graces Guide

1931 William Baird and Co’s Ayrshire coal interests were combined with those of the Dalmellington Iron Co in Ayrshire, to form Bairds and Dalmellington Ltd. The new company, 75 percent owned by William Baird and Co Ltd, controlled 70 percent of the Ayrshire coalfields.

1942 10th Ordinary General Meeting of the company was held in Glagow[1]

The coal mines were nationalised

1946 The trading activities of the company ceased at the end of the year[2]

1953 Having completed the negotiations about compensation, the firm was liquidated[3]
