China and earthenware manufacturer, of Meir Works, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
1876 Barker Bros was founded; at Gold Street, Longton.
1882 Incorporated as Barker Bros Ltd; moved to the Meir Works.
1910 William, Joseph and Arthur Hewitt acquired the business.
From 1928 to 1945 the business was owned and managed by William E. Hewitt.
1929 Listed Exhibtior. Manufacturers of Earthenware, Tea Ware, Fruit Sets, Sandwich Sets, Fancies. (Stand No. G.17) [1]
1939 Acquired Sampson Smith Ltd.
1941 to 1945 Production of the two firms was concentrated at the Barker Bros factory.
1959 Became part of Alfred Clough group.
1978 Successor company: Grindley of Stoke.
1981 Business closed.
Trade name was Royal Tudor Ware.
