'...the Partnership heretofore existing between us the undersigned, John Solomon Bickford, George Smith, William Bickford Smith, Francis Pryor, and Simon Davey, carrying on business under the style or firm of Bickford, Smith, and Co., as Safety Fuse Manufacturers, at Camborne, in the county of Cornwall, and elsewhere, has this day been dissolved by mutual consent, and that the said business will in future be carried on by the said John Solomon Bickford, George Smith, William Bickford Smith, and Simon Davey...'[1]

1888 Incorporated as a limited company.
1914 Manufacturers of blasting fuses, instantaneous fuses for military and civil engineering and safety colliery fuses for gaseous mines; electric fuses; volley-firers and all blasting accessories. [2]
1918 Incorporated into Explosives Trades Ltd as part of the merger of 29 makers of explosives[3]
ICI acquired a controlling interest
1932 Formation of ICI (Explosives) which would include 11 companies controlled by ICI including Bickford, Smith and Co [4].
