1951 Nationalised under the Iron and Steel Act; became part of the Iron and Steel Corporation of Great Britain[1]

1954 Acquired from the Holding and Realisation Agency by Wolverhampton Steel and Iron Company (1946) Ltd[2].

1955 After the acquisition of Wolverhampton Steel and Iron Company by Thomas W. Ward, Birchley was integrated into it forming Wolverhampton and Birchley Rolling Mills Ltd and Birchley Rolling Mills Ltd was liquidated[3].
