This single crank compound traction engine is of a design so popular with West Country users that it was designated the maker's Devonshire type.

This engine was new to W. J. and F. W. Green of Lavington, Wiltshire.

It later passed to W. J. King and Sons of Bishop Lydeard, Somerset, the well-known quarry owners.

It ended its working days with A. M. Murch and Sons of Umberleigh, Devon, where it was rescued for preservation by the present owner's late father.

It was laid up awaiting boiler repairs and rebuilt during the 1990's.

It is currently owned by Michael Pearse, Taphouse, Liskeard.
