'Pride of Devon' No 4014. Built 1925. Reg No: TT 5615/

This engine was sold on 22nd June to C. W. Davey of Sea View Farm, Abbotsham, Bideford along with a Ruston Threshing machine. The engine cost £1069 and the thresher £370.

Sometime later in 1926 the engine was back with George Thurlow and Sons from Suffolk, who were agents for Burrell's and who had originally sold the engine to Mr. Davey as new.

By June 1st 1926, the engine was on hire to W. J. King of Bishops Lydeard for the sum of £5 per week until April 30th 1929, when Mr. King finally purchased it for £225.

'Pride of Devon' was used on threshing contracts until sometime in 1948 when she was laid up.

The present owner purchased the engine at auction in 1988 and has since done a lot of mechanical restoration, but the paintwork remains largely as it was when she ended her working days.[1]
