1932 Clang Ltd was founded by Curt Lange in the premises in Crown Yard (formerly owned by Smith's Potato Crisps); the firm made domestic electrical accessories.

1940/41 Clang took over number 108 Cricklewood Lane, which had previously housed eight separate trades, including the building of car bodies.
1943 It expanded to number 110 Cricklewood Lane, formerly occupied by a refrigerator manufacturer. Both factories were later improved.
After 1946, the company extended its range to include commercial weather-proof electrical fittings and motor trailer electrical connectors.
1970 The labour force was 220.
1972 Acquired by Simplex Electric Co. [2]
