1906 Cleveland and Durham Electric Power Ltd was incorporated to acquire the Cleveland and Durham County Electric Power Co Ltd and a controlling share in Northern Counties Electricity Supply Co[1]. It was operating 2 small generating stations at Consett and Bishop Auckland; their main power station at Grangetown near Middlesbrough was nearly ready to operate[2]
