A product of the North British Rubber Co

1890 William Erskine Bartlett, General Manager of the company, took out the Bartlett-Clincher patent on the first detachable pneumatic tyre.

1894 North British Rubber Co advertised the Clincher Tyre for carriages - the company was the sole manufacturer[1]

1896 The company sold the Bartlett (Clincher) patent for pneumatic tyre to the Dunlop Pneumatic Tyre Co [2]. The North British company would continue to make the tyres with payment of a royalty to Dunlop[3]

1909 Advertised the Clincher Motor Tyre - the "White Tyre" made in 4 patterns[4]
