1897 Josiah Cooper and Francis George Bensly, trading as Cooper and Co of Birmingham, patented "improvements in or connected with polishing mops"
1898 Patent on "Improvements to cycle and like handles" to Josiah Cooper, Francis George Bensly, and Cooper and Co (Birmingham) Ltd; also Cooper and Bensly patented improvements in the manufacture of felt handles for cycles; they also patented improvements in manufacture of furniture castors.
1911 Francis George Bensly was managing director of the company when the company, Bensly and Edgar Charles Morris of the company patented improvements in felt pads for absorbing vibrations in railway carriages.
1948 Patent by the company and Francis Philip Stokes concerning oil seals
1960 Formed a new subsidiary Coopers Plastic Foams Ltd., after acquiring the Volaprene division of Volcrepe Ltd.[1]

1968 Sold Cooper Plastic Foams Ltd. to Vitafoam.[4]
1980 Merged with Bury and Masco Industries and R. R. Whitehead and Brothers to form Bury Cooper Whitehead.[5]
