1949 Vitafoam was founded by Norman Grimshaw at Glen Mill, Oldham.

1955 The Don Mill, Middleton was acquired.

1962 Acquired Marsden, Harcombe and Co.[1]

1963 Motor Show exhibitor. Foam.[2]

1967 Acquired McCrae and Drew.[3]

1967 British Vita Co was incorporated as a Limited Company to acquire the share capital of Vitafoam.

1968 Acquired Cooper Plastic Foams Ltd., maker of foam underlays, from Cooper and Co (Birmingham).[4]
