Corder and Turley

Umbrella and parasol manufacturers.

1874 Patent. '804. And William Corder, of the firm of Corder and Turley, of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, Umbrella and Parasol Manufacturers, and James Alfred Foster, of Birmingham aforesaid, Tool Maker, have given the like notice in respect of the invention of "improvements in the manufacture of the ribs of umbrellas and parasols, and in machinery to be used for that purpose."'[1]

1877 Patent. '1928. William Corder, of the firm of Corder and Turley, of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, Umbrella and Parasol Manufacturers, and Edward Shore, of Birmingham aforesaid, Tool Maker, for an invention of "improvements in the manufacture of runners and top notches for umbrellas and parasols."'[2]

1889 Corder and Turley Limited was first incorporated.[3]

1898 The old company was wound up voluntarily.[4] A new company was formed under the same name.[5]

1901 Mention of F. J. Turley.[6]

1902 The company was wound up, having been acquired by Wright, Bindley and Gell.[7]
