1884 The partnership between William James Cordner and Percy Ruskin Allen, under the firm of Cordner, Allen and Co, electrical and general engineers, was dissolved by mutual consent.[1]

The partnership was soon succeeded by a limited company. The company promoted the Byng Patent Acoustic Telephone, of which they were the manufacturers.
