From Coventry to the Trent and Mersey Canal at Fradley Junction, 38 miles with 13 locks. Connection with the Oxford Canal at Hawkesbury Junction, with the Ashby Canal at Marston Junction, the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal at Fazeley, and the Wyrley and Essington Canal at Huddlesford Junction.

James Brindley was already building the Trent and Mersey Canal when he took on the commitments of the Oxford Canal and the Coventry Canal.
