1917 Partnership change. D. L. Motor Manufacturing Co. Partners were William Guthrie and Charles Bruce. Bruce retires and Guthrie will continue the business under the same name.[1]
1918 Company incorporated to acquire the private company of the same name which had been making the D. L. motor car for several years before WWI.
1918 Acquired by Wallace Farm Implements Ltd[2]
1919 'Mr William Guthrie, of the DL Motor Manufacturing Company, and his friend the Prince of Wales, had a chat over the Glasgow motor plough at Cardiff ten days ago. The plough is the invention of Mr Guthrie and his partner, Mr Wallace, implement maker, Glasgow, and such are the orders already booked that the firm’s present premises will be taxed to their utmost for the next five years. It speaks volumes for the talent and energy of the firm that success has so soon crowned their efforts. I have it on good authority that the firm have been offered land elsewhere on very advantageous terms in order to induce them to remove to that district.'[3]

1920 William Guthrie, the enterprising Managing Director of the DL Motor Manufacturing Company. 'some months ago to purchase the Projectile Factory at Cardonald, where all the various departments will now be concentrated' [5]
