1771 Advert: 'WANTED at Whitsunday next, A PROPER PERSON to take the MANAGEMENT of the SUTLERY at DALNOTTER IRON WORKS. No person need apply but such as can bring proper certificates of their sobriety, honefty, and activity.- For particulars, apply to Mr. M'Ewan, Writer in Edinburgh ; Mess. Georg or Peter Murdoch, Merchants in Glasgow, or John Gillies at the work.'[1]

1800 The company's properties in Old Kilpatrick Parish were purchased Robert Dennistoun, Richard Dennistoun, Robert James McNair, James McNair, and Walter Tassie. [3]

1806 Advert: 'TO TIN-PLATE ROLLERS & MILLMEN. WANTED a Person capable of undertaking the Management of a Mill in the Slitting and Rolling Departments, particularly the rolling of Tin Plates, Sheet Iron and Hoops. A Ready, sober, and attentive Man, completely master of his Buisness, will meet with liberal Encouragement by applying to the DALNOTTER IRON COMPANY, near Glasgow, or to HARVEY and Co. Bristol.'[4]
