Danone is a multinational food-products corporation based in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. It has four business lines: Fresh Dairy products, Waters, Early Life Nutrition and Medical Nutrition

1972 A merger created France's biggest food and drink group. The 2nd largest glass manufacturer, Boussois-Souchon-Nouvel (BSN), acquired Gervais-Danone[1]

1989 BSN acquired Associated Biscuits which was renamed The Jacob's Bakery

1991 BSN already had a significant interest in W. and R. Jacob and Co in Ireland and made a recommended offer for that company[2]

2004 United Biscuits acquired the UK and Irish biscuit businesses of Danone including Jacob's and Twiglets[3]
