Born the son of Alexander Hubbard, a Contractor's Chief Clerk.

1881 Residing at 1 Rochester terrace, Plymouth: David Derry Hubbard (age 32 born Plymouth), Builder. With his wife Emily M. and a son. Living next door to his business partner Seth Bevan.[1]

Later moved to Norwood and became an accountant.

1915 Died at Croydon
