Ernest Henry Lloyd

c1834 Born in Llantwit Lower, Glamorgan

1850 Articled to H. Villiers Sankey; worked on setting out and constructing the Victor Emmanuel Railway in Savoy.

1858 Resident engineer under Charles Vignoles on the Bilbao and Tudela Railway in Spain.

1863 Engineer to the Llanelly Railway and Dock Co

Constructed the Swansea and Carmarthen New Lines

1873 Divisional engineer for the Great Western Railway when it acquired the Llanelly company

1881 Civil engineer, living in Neath, with Mary Toupe Lloyd 42, John Christian Lloyd 13, H. Ernest Herbert Lloyd 8, Mary Eveline Lloyd 6[1]

1901 retired from the railway

1917 Died in Ulverston[2]
