The company grew with the horticultural industry in the most productive area of the country, Lincolnshire.[2]

1940 Eastern Counties Preserves was in liquidation[3]

1940 Eastern Counties Preserves (1940) Ltd was incorporated as fruit and vegetable canners

1953 Lockwoods Sales Ltd, a subsidiary, was incorporated; later in the year Lockwoods Fruit Farms Ltd, another subsidiary, was incorporated

1958 Lockwoods Italiana S.p.A., a subsidiary, was incorporated

1959 Eastern Counties Preserves (1940) was renamed Lockwoods Foods Ltd
