1851 Living at a house in the village of Grandborough (age 8). With his mother Maria Mushing (age 47 born Prior's Marston), a widow on poor relief. Also his siblings William (age 24), and John (age 19). [1]

1871 Living at 64 Howard Street, Coventry (age 28 born Grandboro, Warwick), commercial clerk. With wife Mary E. (age 26 born Sidmouth). [2]

1876 Founder of the Centaur Cycle Co with George Gilbert

1901 Living at Richmond House, Stoke Green, Coventry (age 58 born Grandboro, Warwick), Cycle manufacturer and employer. With wife Mary (age 54 born Sidmouth, Devon) and his nephew Henry James Bayley (age 16 born Coventry), Cycle worker. Plus a servant and a visitor. [3]
