1820 The firm of Ellam Jones and Co. was established by William Ellam

Ellam, Jones and Co were the inventors and sole makers of Markeaton Red, used by the principal English and foreign railway companies for their signal arms, etc., also by the principal corporations for their fire appliances, and post office pillar boxes.[1]

1897 Ellam Jones & Co. were incorporated as a Limited Company

1908 Merged with Pegg and Co as Pegg and Ellam Jones
