1912 The American Hardware Co merged with the Hartford-Empire Co to form the Emhart Manufacturing Co.

The company later became the Emhart Corporation.

1975 Acquired the United Shoe Machinery Corporation and with it gained control of Bostik, the British United Shoe Machinery Co and its subsidiary Tucker Fasteners.[1]

1989 Acquired by Black and Decker.[2]
