1966 English Electric Industrial Control and Automation was formed to bring together all of the company's product and systems divisions directly concerned with control and automation.

1968 English Electric (Electronics and Automation) Ltd was incorporated to bring together all of the subsidiary companies involved in electronics, industrial control and automation.[1]

1968 GEC took over English Electric

1970 Name changed to GEC Reactor Equipment Ltd

1971 of Whetstone, Leicester, part of GEC Power Engineering Group

1981 Became part of GEC Energy Systems Ltd

1989 Renamed GEC Alsthom Energy Systems Ltd
