Frank Lister (c1859- ), of Keighley built an early car

c1859 Born in Keighley, the son of Charles Lister, Paper maker, and his wife Annie

1885 of Messrs Wilkinson and Lister, Bradford Road Works, Keighley.

1889 July. Married. The marriage of Miss Clara Smith, fourth daughter of the late Mr John Smith, of Croft House, Utley, and Mr Frank Lister, younger son of Mr Charles Lister. of Summerfield, Utley, was solemnised at the Keighley Pariah Church, on Wednesday. The bride, who was given away by Mr Wm. Weatherhesd (the Mayor of Keighley), was attended by four bridesmaids.[1]

1889 December. Patent. Frank Lister, 77, Oaklands, Keighley, for "A rotary engine or motor, applicable also as a rotary pump, blower, or exhauster, when driven by a motor."[2]

1890 of Messrs Lister and Co, Keighley

1896 Patent 7,668. F. Lister, "Improvements appertaining to road vehicle propelled by steam, oil, electric, or like motor mechanism."[3]

1899 Description of a motor car patented, designed and built by him.[4] Presumably he was connected with Lister and Co (Keighley) which were making engines and cars at that time.

1901 Living at 165 North Street, Keighley: Frank Lister (age 42 born Keighley), Consulting Mechanical Engineer - On own account. With his wife Clara Lister (age 33 born Keighley) and their three children; Frank Lister (age 10 born Keighley); John H. Lister (age 8 born Keighley); and Vera F. A. Lister (age 6 born Keighley).[5]

1911 Living at 165 North Street, Keighley: Frank Lister (age 52 born Keighley), Consulting Mechanical Engineer - On own account. With his wife Clara Lister (age 44 born Keighley) and their three children; Frank Lister (age 20 born Keighley), Assistant Art Master; John Holt Lister (age 18 born Keighley), Art Student; and Vera Francis Annie Lister (age 16 born Keighley).[6]
