Francis Tring Pearce (c1846-1935) of Reynolds and Allen and Priday, Metford and Co

1935 Died. 'We regret to record the death of Mr. Francis Tring Pearce, which took place suddenly from heart failure at his residence, Lorraine House, Park-road, Gloucester, in his 90th year. Mr. Pearce, who was very well-known and respected, was the fourth son of the late Mr. Thomas Pearce, 2, Brunswick-square, Gloucester, and was educated first at Dr. Benham's well-known preparatory school, and later at the King's School, Gloucester. He became a partner in the City Flour Mills with Messrs. Reynolds and Allen, and afterwards Director under the reconstructed firm in 1884, which then became known as Messrs. Priday, Metford and Co., and from which he retired some years ago. Mr. Pearce married Martha, younger daughter of the late Mr. Henry Allen, J.P. will be remembered that Mr. Pearce's eldest son, Mr. Henry Allen Pearce (also director of the City Flour Mills), and his daughter, Margaret Winifred (wife of Mr. Hugh P. Vowles), died within the last three years. He leaves three sons (the eldest of whom, Mr. Francis T. Pearce, now one of the directors of the City Flour Mills) and two daughters, also a sister, Miss H. A. Pearce.'[1]
