FRANK HENRY MATTHEW, born on the 1st September, 1879, died on the 9th October, 1915, of wounds received in action.

After serving as an assistant engineer to Messrs. Easton Gibb and Son, on the North Eastern Railway Extension from Dunston to Gateshead, he went out to South America, where he was employed successively on the Buenos Aires Western Railway, the Central Uruguay line and the Central Argentine Railway, returning home to enlist on the outbreak of war.

He was elected an Associate Member on the 7th March, 1905.
