FREDERIC DAY was born in York on 17th June 1888, and received his early education privately and at Farnham Grammar School, subsequently studying at the Guildford and Kingston Technical Institutes.
After serving an apprenticeship of five years with the firm of Industries, Ltd., Woking, he was engaged as engineer-in-charge with the Leetner Electric Co., of Woking, for over a year, when he became, in 1913, assistant works manager to Messrs. Rushmore, Ltd., of Parsons Green, London.
In 1916 he was appointed Works Manager to Engines, Ltd., of Willesden, and held this post until March 1918, when he became Production Engineer on aircraft at the Ministry of Munitions.
Soon after the termination of the War he took up the post of engineer to the Dairy Supply Co., Ltd., London, which he held until his death on 26th December 1923', at the age of thirty-five.
He became an Associate Member of this Institution in 1919.
