FREDERICK COWELL JENNINGS received his technical education at the East London College and after serving his apprenticeship from 1900 to 1902 with Messrs. Ind, Coope and Allsopp, Ltd., Romford, was employed for a brief period as engineer to Messrs. Andrews and Company, Leyton. In 1903 he began an association with the W. T. Henley Telegraph Works Company, which lasted until his death.

During that long period of nearly forty years he filled successively the positions of draughtsman, assistant engineer, and finally works engineer. Mr. Jennings was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1919 and was transferred to Membership in 1922. His death occurred on 9th July 1942, in his fifty-ninth year.
