1875 Born in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland[1], son of Alexander Disney Leith Napier and his wife Jesse[2]. Alexander was a surgical consulting physician[3]

Technical training at University College, London, and Nancy University

1894 Articled to J. and H. Gwynne Hammersmith, later draughtsman

1899 Assistant engineer at Whitehall Works of Metropolitan Electric Supply Co

1903 Moved to Taylor's Lane Electricity Works as senior engineering assistant

1904 Senior engineering assistant at Taylor's Lane Electricity Works, Willesden District Council; joined I Mech E[4]

1909 Joined the Inst of Electrical Engineers as an associate[5]

1916 Resigned from I Mech E

1919 Member of IEE, of 134 Brondesbury Park, Willesden Green, London NW2[6]

1950 of West Malling, Kent

1953 Died in Kent
