1908 'John Edward Robinson., manager for Fryer and Co., Nelson, makers of the Victory chlorodyne lozenges, said he had been connected with the business for over 20 Years.' Detailed court case over the ingredients of Victory lozenges.[1]

1932 Messrs. Fryer and Co., Ltd., manufacturing wholesale and retail confectioners, Victory Factories, Nelson. Reduction of capital.[2]

1930s '...a gimmick in which sweets were packed in toys was so successful that Victory V branched out into toymaking.'[3]

1940 Mr. J. W. Haythornthwaite, managing director of Messrs. Fryer and Co., Ltd., Victory Works, Nelson.[4]

1948 Died. Alexander Cowpe, of Pendlehurst, Scott Park, Burnley, retired cotton manufacturer of Hargher Clough Mill, chairman of Thomas Fryer (Nelson) Ltd, and a director of the Olive Mount Company, Burnley.[7]

1951 Victory Nelson Toys, Fryer & Co. (Nelson) Ltd., Safer Street, Nelson.[8]

1954 Patent - Improvements in and relating to toys. [9]

1971 "... application is being made to the Lancashire River Authority by Fryer & Co. (Nelson) Ltd., Victory V Factories, Chapel Street, Nelson, Lancs., to vary the licence ... to abstract water from a bore-hole in underground strata at Victory V. Factories, Chapel Street, Nelson"[10]

1987 Closure of Nelson's Victory V works after 123 years.[11]
