1888 'To-day, the pleasure steamer Tantallon Castle will make two exclusions down the Firth to Elie, North Berwick and the Bass Rock, the first starting at 10 a.m, and the second at 3.30 p.m. Numerous journeys will be made by the other steamers of the Galloway Steam Packet Co., to that favourite summer resort Aberdour, while frequent visits are to be paid to the Forth Bridge, which during the naval manoeuvres was "demolished " the other day. Tomorrow, Kirkcaldy, Alloa, Aberdour, Queensferry and the Forth Bridge constitute the programme for the day.'[1]
