1872 Born in Birkenhead

1910 Living in Guildford when he gained his aviator's certificate (no. 5)

A member of the Aero Club

1911 Gave up a year of his time to instruct these Naval Officers in the art of flying at the newly acquired landing ground at Eastchurch. He made no charge to the Admiralty for this. The initial course was satisfactorily carried out with only two minor crashes.
