We were gratified in being present at Melrose upon the 3d instant, when a public dinner was given to Mr Glennie, who was so long and so favourably known in this district, from the important charge which he occupied during the formation of the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway. He is at present engaged as acting engineer upon the Hawick branch of the North British Railway...'[1]
