GEORGE JAMES VALENTINE died at Workington on October 30, 1926, at the age of sixty-one.

He held the position of research chemist in the employment of the United Steel Co. at Workington, and had been a member of the Workington Town Council since 1909.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1903.
